Save time and material

Thanks to Adaptive height and Adaptive infill you can save over 40% in material usage and 30% in printing time. These features were thought for big objects and for models with many flat surfaces that would require a lot of infill used as "internal support".

These mountains will be printed with a default printing quality of 50% (0.17mm layer height with a 0.3mm nozzle). A Light durability preset with a regular infill will be used and, in order to be sure that the flat surfaces will be printed correctly, it will have a 20% infill.

After generating the G-code we can see that, using these settings, 108.37m of PLA filament will be used, with a total printing time of 33 hours and 6 minutes.

Thanks to Voxelizer you can print much faster and cheaper than this: first we change the durability preset to Adaptive with a 50% infill. This feature creates a dense infill near the model's surface, while using a sparse one towards its inside.

The amount of filament used dropped to 58.53m and the printing time to 22 hours and 34 minutes: -46% and -31%.

We can still do better than this though: if we enable Adaptive height Voxelizer will use the curvature of the model as guidance, generating thin layers when this is more flat and thicker ones when this is more steep. Because of that we can move the quality slider up to 75% and we will get the same visual result as we were printing without Adaptive height at 50%.
